This week, guest co-host Jason Smith fills in for Bill as he joins Rick Gethin for a long, strange 90-minute trip through some legendary Grateful Dead performances…
They discuss the myriad choices that can be made when selecting songs to include in the show that really stand out for one or more reasons. Between the two of them, they chose four live songs ranging from 1972 to 1989. You’ll be transported through time from the final show at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia before it was demolished, across the Atlantic Ocean to the pyramids of Giza, Egypt, located on the outskirts of Cairo. There’s a stop in Amsterdam, Holland before crossing back to upstate New York to visit Cornell University.
The guys discuss what made each of the four selections you’ll hear magical. The long, strange is about to begin, so it’s time to beat it on down the line…
