If it’s June, that means it’s time for another episode of our monthly series Three Bands With…
This week, professional musician Dan Milligan joins the show from Chicago. Dan is the “Chief Thief” and founder of the post-industrial supergroup The Joy Thieves (local band Wandering Stars are also members of the supergroup). He is one-half of the Shoegaze band The Burying Kind, as well as the drummer for rock band Mary’s Window.
You’ll hear how he began forming The Joy Thieves by contacting Martin Atkins (Killing Joke, Ministry, Pigface, Nine Inch Nails) and how that led to getting Chris Connelly (Revolting Cocks, Ministry, Murder, Inc., Pigface) to join the Thieves. The collective of musicians that are part of the Joy Thieves now numbers over 50.
Of course, Dan chose all of the music for this show…
Music on this week’s episode:
- King’s X – Black The Sky
- Nine Inch Nails – Vessel
- Hybrid – Break My Soul
