Bill and Rick are both veterans of the U.S. Army, and have a deep appreciation for their brothers and sisters in arms that gave the ultimate measure of their devotion in service to our country. For this week’s Special Memorial Day Episode, they focus on the war in Vietnam and the music that defined that era.
From Folk to Rock-n-Roll, and Soul to protest songs, the music that permeated the Vietnam War era had something for everyone. The guys are not shy about sharing the honor they felt in serving the United States in America’s military, Duty, honor and country is not a toss-away phrase they pay lip-service to; it continues to be part of the fabric of their souls.
The music from that era, especially the songs selected for this week’s podcast, are timeless and continue to resonate 50-plus years later. They hope you take a moment to reflect on those that gave their lives so that you didn’t have to.
Music on this week’s episode:
- Barry McGuire – Eve Of Destruction
- Buffalo Springfield – For What It’s Worth
- The Rolling Stones – (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction
- Creedence Clearwater Revival – Fortunate Son
