Ed. ~ This episode was originally scheduled to be live on December 29th. Sometimes life comes at you hard, which is why it’s a few weeks later than planned. My apologies to you for the delay.
For this episode, we’re saying goodbye to the year that was 2023 (a bit late, for sure), and looking ahead with hopeful optimism that 2024 will give us reason to be cheerful.
Joining me on this goodbye/hello journey are Amanda Mac and Mike Staub from the badass rock band Bad Mary (NYC). As usual, our conversation was wide-ranging, full of stories, ideas, laughter and music, of course.
We talked about the music and bands from the 70s, 80s, and more, while staying within the loose topic of positive vibes as we begin a new year. we tossed around the concept of their band going old school and doing a tour with their friends in The Knottie Boys band, calling it The Knottie Mary Medicine Show.
The music on this episode spans decades and different genres, all while keeping in the spirit of rock-n-roll. You’ll hear Proto Punk, Pop Punk, Rock and even a mashup comprised of the bands Modern English, The Rolling Stones, John Lennon, and Screaming Trees.
It’s fun, it’s weird, and it rocks, but we all see 2024 as a glass that’s half-full rather than wallowing in despair at what might be not that great. The point of symbolically turning the page from 2023 to 2024 is to look ahead with the myriad positive possibilities.
We hope your new year has more ups than downs, my friends.
